ANIMAL COMMUNICATIONS FOR MOVING WIHT A PET

Every Post I will be writing about specific messages to help you enhance your relationship and verbal communication with your animal friends. For more detailed information on my in-the-moment messages ending techniques check out the Pause & Connect Point on page 37 of my book Beyond Companionship: Connecting with Kindred Souls of Animal Companions (click title for purchase link)

Last month you started the verbal conversion between you and your companion with a simple message of affection and care. Lets expand the conversation from whats going on between you and your pet to whats going on in your life.

This month your in-the-moment message for your animal companion will be a heads up on the going ons in your home. Don't overthink this, keep it simple sweetie. If you are communicating with a house pet you can give him or her specifics about when you are coming home if leaving the house. I would even go as far as telling your companion where you are going.  I have seen these types of messages go far in helping pets who are a little anxious around their persons coming and goings.

If you are communicating with a barn/stable friend you might want to communicate your visiting schedule for the week, letting him or her know when s/he can expect you.  The trick to this is, sticking to what you have said and if your going to change your plans do a little distant communication to give your animal friend(s) a heads up.

Bonus*
Three step distant message sending technique:
1- Take a deep cleansing breath.
2- Picture your animal as if they are sitting right in front of you, I always used to imagine my favorite photo of Griffin when I did this.
3-Send your message
Yup, it's that simple!

Happy Chatting!

BEGIN THE CONVERSATION

Last year with my monthly newsletter column we talked connection and communication, you can see this information in previous posts titled Animal Communication Quick Tips. This years monthly column I'm making verbal communication or in-the-moment message sending the focus of the column. You can lean more about in-the-moment message sending in my book Beyond Companionship: Connecting with the Kindred Souls of Animal Companions.  These next 12 posts will be based on the Pause and Connect point found on page 37.

BEGIN THE CONVERSATION

I have always said we do not give our animals enough credit for what they are able to understand and comprehend. When we we send a clear, focused message out loud (because out loud is much more affirming when we are beginners at communicating) the intention, energy, and meaning of the message is fully relieved by our animal companions.
If you work with me you know I believe animals have connection and communication preference and we should readily use those preferred ways to connect. However, animals can learn via all connection and communication avenues and making verbal communication i.e. in-the moment message sending a connection point in your relationships with animals you will have an animal who begins to not only better understand you but who will look to you as a source of information.

Messages can be as simple as I love you, or as complex as when under saddle you say to your horse when I nudge you here with my foot I need you to a.b.c....The trick to in-the-moment message sending is to do it. Because the more you give your horse information you are peeling the onion going deeper and deeper into connection, trust.

This month your in-the-moment message home work is to simply begin the conversation. Start talking out loud to your animal companion giving him or her tid-bits of information here and there and she how he/she responds. In a short time your animal companion will begin to look to you for these messages and you can starting using the technique productively.

Throughout the next 12 months I will be writing one speciific messages every month to help you enhance your relationship and verbal communication with your animal friends.

ANIMALCONNECTION AND COMMUNICATION QUICK TIP

If you and your animals work with me, especially performance animals I'm sure you have heard me talk about using acknowledgment as an instant energy shifter.
I started making acknowledgment of an animals experience an important part of the conversations in all my sessions a few years back. It was after a very interesting conversation with a barrel racing horse and trainer. The two had been in a warm up pen and the horse was giving some clear signs saying I'm done and the trainer was not having that sass and pushed on. Many of us have been there. The horse hit the brake point, had a melt down, and thankfully no one was hurt. When I came in to chat with the horse about what was up her biggest issue was that she was very uncomfortable in the situation and felt the rider wasn't acknowledging that. #lightbulb

As I started to begin all my conversations with an acknowledgment of where the animals were coming from I would feel immediate shifts in the energy of the animal. This shift was positive, opening, and made him/her more receptive to any information or positive training technique that followed.
So how does this help you?

Think of acknowledgment as and in-the-moment tool you canuse to shift the energy of the experience you are having with your animal companion. If your companion is losing focus in a training session, paying too much attention to other animals, etc. You can stop address whats up and say. " I see your attentions is focused over there, but I need you for x amount of min." "I see that is upsetting you making you anxious, (more to come about fear and anxiousness next month) I need you to know we are ok and tell him or her where to put her focus. don't make this more complicated than it needs to be, just a simple acknowledgement of what you see happening from the animals perspective.

ANIMAL CONNECTION & COMMUNICATION QUICK TIP

I want to share with you about the importance of connecting and communicating with your animal companion on every level. This is a lesson my German Shepherd, Griffin taught me early on in my animal communication career. Before I started doing intuitive animal communication professionally, I had a business as a dog trainer. Before my first full on soul to soul exchange of information with Griffin (Shared in the first chapter of my book Beyond Companionship.) we were already deep in a connective and communicative relationship exchanging information on another level, human to dog.

While your dog, cat, horse, rat, bird, etc, has a soul and can connect, communicate and comprehend what you are saying on a deep soul level, s/he is still here to have an experience as a dog, cat, horse, rat, bird etc. As your companions custodian and caretaker during his or her time here it is important for you to maintain a healthy connection as human to horse, human to cat, etc, as well as the deeper soul to soul connection you get from working with an intuitive communicator like me.

How do you do this? Well if your getting my emails I'm going to assume we are connected you're well on your way soul to soul connection. As for the more 3D, real world human-animal companion connection you're likely already doing it by creating boundaries and connection via positive reinforcement training.

When working with clients I never negate the importance of connecting and communicating with your animal on instinctual human to animal level via positive reinforcement training.  Intuitive connection and communication is never a replacement for healthy boundaries, training and human to animal connection but rather and enhancement of its effectiveness that brings you in to deeper understanding and resonance with your animal(s).

ANIMAL CONNECTION & COMMUNICATION QUICK TIP

Listen to yourself. Seems simple, right? It's not. We are actually taught, conditioned to ignore the most important information we receive, our gut feelings, our intuition.

Your body is extremely intelligent. When you have emotions or thoughts even in your subconscious they will be reflected in your body. Whenever I have dis-ease in my body one of the first things I do is reference Louise Hay's book "You Can Heal Your Life."  She has an index that corresponds dis-ease in the body to the emotion or mental experience that congruently needs healing. For example, Gas Pains equate to "Gripping, fear, undigested ideas." A neat thing about her book is she gives you a new thought pattern to shift the energy and heal. For example the new thought pattern to support heal gas pains is, "I relax and let life flow through me with ease." Your body knows whats up and it constantly sending signals to you. Sometimes those mayday's show up as actual physical signs other times they are intuitions.

This months tip; tune in, listen close, trust yourself. I rarely tell people things in my communication sessions with their animals that they don't know. That's the way it should be anytime you work with an intuitive, on some level what is said should resonate with you. If you work with me you know I celebrate these moments. I try to never miss an opportunity to say, "hey, your doing this, your getting information, and using it, your on the right track and that's not a coincidence." because ultimately my goal is for you to start "tuning in" seeing, hearing and feeling your animal in such a way that you need me less, and less.

Have a funny feeling you should change your dogs food? Trust it. Your horse giving you the stink eye because you changed up his bit?  You know what's up. Your cat's meowing at the wall and you think to yourself hmm...grandma must be checking in from the beyond. I bet she is! You tapped in in the divine, to the eternal knowing, and especially to beings closest to you so, tune in and trust yourself.

ANIMAL CONNECTION & COMMUNICATION QUICK TIP

Ever hear the saying change your thoughts, change your world? Well the same is true for your words! This months connection and communication tip is change your words, change your experience! That got an exclamation point because this is it people, you want deeper connection, competitive edge, these monthly simple little tid-bits I'm giving you are the cherry on top of your sundae.

Changing your words requires you to be in a place of high-noticing when it comes to talking about your animal companion. Yes, I said talking about (not just to). Words have a powerful energy attached to them that can be tangibility felt. When you talk about your four-legged friends to you speak from a place of ownership or partnership?  Those two words ownership and partnership both describe your relationship with your animals but with a very different energetic expression or feeling. You are in a relationship with the animals in your life. The words you use to talk about that relationship as well as the words you use to speak to your animal companion are creating the experiences you share. Your words are either nurturing, building, and growing your relationship, or depriving it of becoming all it could be.
A great time to practice choosing your words wisely is when your animal friend is upsetting or embarrassing you. A first response to upset is often to complain about the situation, and your animals pitfalls, to whom ever is closest. These are the  moments to activate high-noticing, motor your words, and shift negative talk to a positive talk. One way to do this is by talking about the experience you want to create. Don't get stuck analyzing what is wrong, start analyzing what assets you and your animal companion have that can support your growth in the moment. That's what I call conscious companionship with animals!

ANIMAL CONNECTION & COMMUNICATION QUICK TIP

Energy

When connecting and communicating with animals it is important to acknowledge that animals feel us before they see or hear us. This means before you walk through the door to greet your cat after a long day at work your cat can "feel" what energy you're bringing into the space. When you are tacking up your horse for your afternoon ridding lesson your horse has already intuiting, sensing, feeling, and receiving a "download" of intuitive information based on the energy you have brought with you into his/her stall.

Like us animals are souls first, that means that like us they have a 6th sense that I like to call our soul sense. I think of it as our soul's sense because is not a sense we experience physically like our other 5 senses seeing, hearing, smelling, tasting, touching. Your soul sense is where you exchange information with the world a non-snesory way (intuitively) and it is in this space where connecting and communicating with your animal friends begins.

Tap into your soul sense by becoming more consciously aware of what energy your giving your animal companions to connect and interact with. Bonus question for friends and clients with equine or canine athletes, what energy are you giving your teammate to work with?
